A Victorinox EDC Flashlight?
on: May 04, 2016, 04:37:21 AM
Has Vic ever dipped their toes in this arena? I've noticed all the other Multi tool companies have some form of flashlights they brand or produce themselves. I would love to see a Vic AA torch  have they done so in the past? Maybe a new 2017 release? What do you all think?

They has a Spartan + torch model, never released.
Not the Spartan Lite, just a Spartan with a torch sandwiched in.

I'd like to see a genuine Vic torch though. Why not?

Nice! Are they any good? Do they produce a lot of light?

They were made by Innova, if memory serves.  They're... Ok, but nothing compared to my Fenix lights.  I'll check my packages of them tomorrow, but I want to say they were rated as being one watt?

I think Eth might have one NIB for sale. I might have a used one kicking around here somewhere that could go. I prefer my Fenix and 4Sevens more.

Hmm, too bad. Only a few things are as useless as a mediocre flashlight  ::)

I also am a big fan of my Fenix flashlights :salute:

They were OK for their time.
You can still find them in shops, as they were never popular because of the price. They are designed to be given as gifts to husbands etc.

I have a older Supertool, circa '98 I believe. It came with a mini maglite and sheath to accommodate both. These lights look similar (rebranded?). Although someone mentioned innova, which I have a small AA. It's good, not great.

Maybe they should revisit this. The popularity in smaller, brighter flashlights is huge.

In my searches these never came up, so their popularity must  not have been high. Where do they fall in the timeline? Were these done recently? Maybe a limited run? Great pics btw

I have one of those AA Vic lights in my workshop.  It eats batteries like crazy, so its not something Id carry ever.

It would be nice if Vic did do a modern small light.  Id be much more likely to purchase that instead of luggage or perfume.

I love my SAK's, but when I need to see in the dark, I go with my Fenix.  :tu:

Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

I've got one of the 2xAAA ones and have to say it's pretty dim.  Well made IIRC, but not a patch on a modern light.
