That golfer Sak scales look beautiful. I like how the edges are less beveled and more squared. Really thick however? But I'd rock that for sure, nice piece.

My maker friend suggested 3.5mm-4mm thickness for 2 layer knives for better grip during use... Thought I'd give it a try...

Not sure if this counts but I use it more than any other light.  It's a Cygolite Expilion 800.  It's for cycling but slides out of the mount for handheld use. It's too bulky for a pocket carry but it is BRIGHT and gets the most use of any of my lights.
If I'm leaving the house after 4pm I generally take it. Of course right after I bought it they cam out with the 850 Lumen version...  I want the top level, smurf it.

XM-L2 LED, if that means anything.

http://www.cygolite.com/product/expilion-850-usb/

It's USB rechargeable so if I'm bike packing and the camp site doesn't have A/C outlets, I can charge my lights with a USB battery. But the battery is removable, so in theory I could bring a spare.

The stayglow Deluxe Tinker is a newer thing.  Usually it would have been an Explorer but I'm liking having pliers along. Though I haven't actually used them so far.

The flashlight is a Lezyne Hecto Drive. It doubles as a bicycle headlight (quite common overhere, where there are more bicycles than people). I also use it for insect photography, occasionally.

@mrynnr,

Is this Olight the new one with the 900 lumens? I keep forgetting the model, S1R or something? I've been looking at them for a while and, of course, again hesitating. I haven't bought a new light for many months and now I walk through some really dark areas in the morning and evening  What do you think of the light?

Yes it is! It's a great light! Bit wider than the lumintop though because it uses CR123A batteries. The charger comes with it, so you don't have to worry about getting another charger. Also... like the magnetic tail cap.

Yeah, I read some of the basic stuff...

As for the charger, do you think the USB part can be plugged in a.. regular charger/adapter and the light be charged plugged in the power plug on the wall, for example?

How long does it take to charge from the PC?

And a rechargeable Olight battery comes with it, right?

I've long wanted some of these Batons, but these batteries are rather difficult to find around here. So if this one comes with a battery and it can be charged from the PC... and comes with a 5-year warranty.... it sounds really tempting. And you get access to Moonlight mode or the brightest mode without having to cycle through modes... that seems awesome.

Can you post more pics, when you have some free time, comparing its size to some random general objects? :D

I have the S2 and love it. Not quite as compact but stays at 900 for longer and longer overall battery life

mrynnr, thanks for the pictures!! No idea how I didn't see them so far, but I'm really busy and just quickly browse the topics.

I see, I love the light, I'm just not sure it'll be comfortable for pocket carry  I mean, if you wear tight pants... it'll be quite a "bulge" in the pocket, right? :D :D
