I picked up a Cold Steel 3V Recon Tanto  CPM-3V. for under 50 bucks at a local knife store. Looked like some old stock, it was dusty at the bottom of the case.

This is the large (5.5” blade) Espada.  F&F is excellent.

The blade is has an interesting feature that is basically a modified thumb disc that also functions like an Emerson wave, but a quick wrist flick snaps the blade open with a satisfying clack.

The handle is amply sized, and the deep finger grooves really lock the knife into my hand.

The biggest obstacle to carrying it regularly, IMO, is the weight.  At nine ounces, it’s just a lot to haul around, and there is no real weight advantage vs. a comparably sized fixed blade.  For example, a Buck 119 (6” blade) weighs 7.5 ounces without a sheath.
