A Mod I would like to see
on: September 17, 2008, 05:46:16 AM
The gist of it is , take one huntsman , replace the masterblade with a file/hacksaw and possibly upgrade the scales to red or orange G10..The concept came out of a beer induced conversation with a former apprentice. We both admitted that we never used the master blade of our collective Humtsmen but always used the pen blade. We also allowed that the file/ metal saw would be a handy item. Thickness wouldn't be increased so ergonomics would be unchanged.

What say you Oricles ?

Chris

I know I like the idea of seeing files on more 91MM SAKS.Sounds like a feasible mod if you're working in an setting where controlled precise cutting is commonplace.

I don't think it's work as a file needs a seperatly layer all by itself (it's an unsociable bugger :D) so I think you'd have to keep the mainblade anyway :-\

Have you thought about a Ranger, it's only an extra layer, but would have all the existing tool of the Huntsman, plus a file :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

Mike is right, sadly you can't pair a blade and a file in the same layer.

All true I'm afraid.  The problem is that the main blade kicks over to the left very slightly so as to miss the pen blade.  I'm not sure how you could do that with a file/hacksaw.  Sorry.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

100% right , on close inspection , ya would have to add a layer= a Ranger. Oh well! A scale upgrade would be nice but the knife is a knockabout work piece , so prolly unwarranted.
