I started to look closer on the newly arrived Huntsman with buffalo horn scales. I noticed the outer liners seemed thicker than ususal.

And they are.
Here is my Cellidor Huntsman of the same age:

Mine has a aluminum head tweezer. When it arrived I thought it being a nice surprise - but I also thought it being misplaced on a post 1991 Victorinox.

Searched the net for reference pictures and there is a Huntsman on the bay. A little earlier but not that much. And it has the thicker liners too.
Pictures borrowed from the auction:

AND it has the aluminum head tweezers too... (and it is not that old)

The thicker liners are probably there to give the knife with buffalo scales better support - making it stiffer, as the horn scales probably are more brittle. To see if there is a "thing" with the aluminium head tweezers I need more reference pictures.
Anyone out there with a Huntsman buffalo?
Have I made a genuine discovery (mainly the thicker outer liners) or is this old news?
