Pioneer and Farmer...
The Pioneer looks absolutely pristine. I'd be scared smurfless to carry it! But acquisition of an OC Pioneer has bumped way up on my priority list...if ever I can find one at the right price.

OC is the best Alox.

You know you want one……or 15.

Oh dear God, yes! I spotted a Popular on eBay, but the start bid is a little much.

I only have one, my birth year Soldat, which Folder Beholder located for me.  It's a spotless '67.  I love OC but the soldiers hold a special place in my heart.  I had the opportunity to serve alongside some Swiss soldiers a long time ago in a far away land  :D

My current OC collection.

Across the bottoms row is Pioneer, Farmer and a Harvester.

Top one is my shelf queen Pioneer. Not sure it’s even been used.

Love that Harvester.

I only have two OC's left after some downsizing over the past few years and they're both shelf queens. I EDC a Wenger SI and a newer Pioneer so I can't bring myself to break these in, but they do look good with some wear.

I'm the same way El C.  I have 3 soldiers but only one OC.  My carry SI is a '96' that had seen some hard use prior to me.  The other two, a '67 and a '06, are shelf queens.  I wish Vic would bring back the OC on the Alox.

That's exactly what I'd do with those. They're absolutely stunning!

A little bump with the only old cross I’ve had for the past couple of years. A pioneer with an 85 dated blade.

Beautiful!

Is that writing/engraving on the farmer’’s scale?

What do you think, - Fierere -   maybe?

Beautiful OC trio John.  :like:
Red OCs are probably the most beautiful SAKs ever. (just my opinion)
The engraving could perhaps mean *Aaron*

Wow, I can’t make that out at all. I can see if it could be  Fierere or Aaron even as Sneider suggests

It would never even occur to me to try and engrave something on the checkered part. Maybe these knives are why Vic started the engraving panel.

The über-rare model 2224, a real gem in my collection despite its thrashed main blade.

Nice knife, Myron!  Those thick awl early alox pioneers are amazing - would be nice if Victorinox produced a collectors’/anniversary edition of one!  :dd:

The original awl pioneer is my grail knife. Unfortunately they go for silly money so I haven’t acquired one. Yet.  >:D
