My SAK Trifecta
on: December 26, 2024, 12:53:19 AM
I gotta say, the SAK bug bites hard, but I am trying to not let it all get out of hand. I am trying my hardest to resit the urge to buy one of everything. I feel like this is all I really need (well, at least thats how I keep saying it in my head over and over).

The minichamp should be able to handle most of what I will encounter. If not, I have the bantam to step up. With those two in my pocket, I should be set. But, on the off chance life throws something at me out of left field, I have the Spirit X. I keep telling myslef I am good with these three tools. But we all know, it's not going to stop there.

That bunch will have you pretty well-covered. Yet I'm sure there will be even more to come.

This is similar to my combo. Great minds and so forth
  :salute:

I keep nearly every day the Spirit, a Rally, and an Alox Solo.  At minimum the Spirit and Rally/Rambler.

Or, a Midnite/Alox Minichamp and Waiter with the Spirit.

You just can’t go wrong with this sort of grouping.

And I’m sorry to say but once you’ve been bitten by the bug you’re probably going to get more. It’s the only cure.

I got a WorkChamp (not the XL, which seems unweildy) as a multitool alternative.  It's a very solid tool and handy.

Yes, I already had many multitools and knives, but we... look squirrel!
My Mods: 58mm Workshop, 91mm Picnicker, CyberCompact
Some Fav's: long nail file models, vintage unusual stainless
Quirk: I like the metal file more than the wood saw

Nice looking trio.   I have an explanation for family members:  “The correct number of SAKs is one more than you currently have”.  Sounds logical to me.  In fact, I have a SKS Hiker on the way.

Hey Ozark how’s the trifecta working for you, still using it or have you switched anything out? Took me a few iterations to get to this trio as a solid primary.  I mentioned these three in a previous post: butter blade Spirit, Alox Solo, and Rally.
