We had one last year, although I can't recall if there's a badge for it.
Maybe it’s time for a Ranger challenge soon  :D

I love Rangers. Some nice ones here. I wanted a lighter one so I have removed a layer or two from a couple.

Ranger should really be a Mountaineer Plus, though, shouldn't it?

My Ranger came in today. After a good cleaning it looks sharp again  8)

I really like it! Only slightly bigger than an Explorer, but with a much higher tool density. Love the fact that every available tool slot is occupied, even though I don’t use the backside tools very often. But, better to have it and only use every so often, than not have it and wanting it  :D

I got mine on Monday, exactly the same as yours. Are the shield and camping logo printed, not inlaid?

I need to give it a clean and re lube, the factory stuff seems real thick and the snap of the tools just isn't quite there. Also, the strength of the back spring just doesn't quite have the same firmness as a Huntsman or Hiker or Fieldmaster due to the back side SD.

Still, it's a nice tool, and probably as big as I'd like to go for a SAK width wise

I assume it is printed. I think on the metal inlay ones the logo and the writing are connected.

Ranger fans, I need a bit of your help. I'm considering retiring my Farmer after about a decade of amazing work so it could be passed down when the time for that comes. My local shop still doesn't have the Farmer X, so I'm going by the Pioneer X price which is about 1 euro under the Ranger price.

Since I'm living in an urban area and this pandemic has gotten people to be a bit jumpy, plus a lot of people in my company are quite nervous around any tool, the SAK is my go to outside EDC around 90% of the time. The Ranger has a very nice tool selection with some being a bit too much for my usual needs, but it is a top contender.
The part that I'm a tad worried is how much thicker/harder to carry would it be as compared to a Farmer since I'm mostly in jeans

It is hard to tell, as everyone feels different about that. I carry mine suspended, either with a small clip or the Vic belt hanger, and have no issues with it.

My father gave me my Camping Ranger 40 years ago and it is still my favourite, for the reason it was from dad. I have other SAKs which I will post. This is my first post!

Welcome, Des!

Isn't it awesome, the longevity of Victorinox, not only in models and how long some have been around, with a few updates and improvements over time, but how long the tool itself will last.

I use a hanger clip similar to the one pictured here

Thanks again. I’ll try to post some pics of my Camping Ranger. I treated it recently to a new red leather Victorinox pouch
