The bottle opener

I'm just curious, how often do you guys use the bottle opener in the multi tool (can be any kind, big or key chain).

For me, I barely use the bottle opener, even the dedicated bottle opener.
I usually use the lighter to open the bottle.
Sometimes, I feel like the lighter can open the bottle easier than the real bottle opener.

Maybe, I've become efficient in using several things to open bottle.

This has made me sometimes hope that the multi tool has other tools instead of bottle opener that I do not need.

Please shares, thank you

I can open a bottle with just about anything. Even a piece of paper. Ahhh the misspent youth. :dd: So the bottle opener isn't that important of a feature if one's not around. But it makes it easier. ;)

As of why so many multitools have it? Well why not. Mostly it serves other functions too. The one on a Skeletool is also a carabiner, or hammer on LM Signal or MUT, the one on the Wave is also a can opener, sometimes even awl. Most others use the Swiss Army Knife design so it's actually a flat head screwdriver that doubles as a bottle opener.

Actually the original, first SAKs didn't even have a bottle opener, there was only a large flathead screwdriver. Only later did the good people of Victorinox decide to add an extra feature and cut out a bottle opener in the said screwdriver, add an extra feature in the already existing tool without adding any tool layers and bulk. I'd call it a smart move. :drink:

Well, as a non-smoker I do not have a lighter. Eventhough I do carry one for any case, the damage the cap causes on the base of the lighter frightenes me. It feels like the lighter's gonna crack or leak or something :) That's why I prefer the opener of the tool I'm carrying. Also, using my Vic or LM Wave for ANY reason give me an ego boost hehe, I enjoy the moment.
