Still carrying the hand forged lambsfoot that I started the week with. just eaten three apples with it, and there's some real colour when the light hits the blade. At first glance it's just a darkened steel blade, but there's quite a spectrum of colour to the patina. It looks like I've had a blowtorch to it, not fresh fruit.  Not easy to photograph, but there's a good spectrum of yellows, greens and blues within the usual shades of grey.
that's looking good Al. :tu:  Remind me; who made that one?

I think it was Stan Shaw, but there's no makers mark on it. It's certainly hand forged, and was made at Kelham Island Industrial Museum (remember the little cutler's workshop in the back? There!). Stan Shaw is the only name I know of any Little Mesters that were still hand forging blades, but I got it from there (indirectly) in th early 90's, and I don't know if he'd taken up residency there at that time.

It looks like one of Trevor Ablett knives - he didn't use maker's marks until later and only had Sheffield made stamped on the tangs. Could it be one of his?

Edit: Here's an older pic of one of mine. It's quite a recent one though, probably 2015 - made not long before he sadly passed away.

Similar pattern, but different bolster, and Lamsbfoot is a very common farmer's knife from all the Sheffield makers. Eggington Group companies, Taylor Eye Witness, and Arthur Wright's all offer them too. I think Trevor used stamped components (blades and springs), and just fitted them by hand, much like Russell White does with a lot of the Taylors Premium line. I haven't had chance to see any of the Michael May (?) stuff yet, who bought Trevor's kit, and I believe took over his workshop, in... crap, I've forgot the name of the building, but the same complex Stuart Whatsisface is in that makes the fixed blades. Bad brain day!

This is hard to capture on pics, but you can feel slight undulations along the spine of this knife, as if it's been bashed into shape, rather than just stamped, which is what led me to think its one of Stan's. I could be wrong though.

EDIT: Stuart Mitchell, Portland Works, where stainless steel was born apparently - or at least where the original accidental discovery was developed into a commercial product.

Actually, it was the angular shape and slim profile of the bolsters that made me think it was one of Trevor's... But having seen your pics now, I've noticed your knife has got steel liners and I think Trevor only used brass.

It just looked remarkably similar to a damaged Trevor Ablett knife I got years and years ago and rehandled, unfortunately it's down south and I'm up north at the moment... and it's been rehandled... Maybe Mrs Fuzzy will take a pic for me?
