Cripple Creek started out 1981 as its own brand being made by Bob Cargill, who had worked for Case.  In 1993 it was sold to Blackjack knives. Since then they have been made by a couple different manufacturers, including Queen, with GEC being the most recent. 

The shield is what drew me to them originally.

Here's one I've not carried in a bit; Arthur Wright spearpoint with buffalo covers.  Very glad I took the time to reprofile the edge.  It was way too "fat" from the factory to ever be properly sharp.
