LC, here is a new thread about TL-29's

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/yea-another-tl-29-question.1857274/#post-21368825

What is the closed length of your PAL ?
It measures 3.5 inches.

It appears in comparison of my other models to be 1/4” shorter.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

From that thread

Waynorth said:

"Remington made some TL-29s (at 3 1/2") which were shorter than others (at 3 3/4"), and sold the tooling to PAL cutlery, which continued to make shorter TL-29s! I have an early Pal which has a PAL etch, and a Remington tang stamp; probably from 1940, when PAL was using up Remington parts!
Earlier Ulsters were also shorter!
The best reference I have found is Mike Silvey's book,
"U.S.Military Pocket Knives From 1800 to the Present".
He goes extensively into TL-29s, with outstanding photographs!! "

Thank you Steve.
Mine does not have any Remington markings on either blade.
The driver blade does have a cut out above the Knick, for access to the knife blade Knick.  And a cutout lower on opposite edge above the )”pivot, for wire stripping pull?

I knew mine felt smaller, shorter and thinner than the other 3 with bails I have.

Non of mine have any PL-29 stamps. One does have 229 on back tang of the blade (CAMCO)

The Colonial and Klein has no additional stamps other than mfr on blade tang.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Back with the Case Working Jack #087.  I don't do a lot of black in my life if I can help it, but this one most certainly gets a big pass.
