Very nice Steve!  I commented in the WHW thread…

Nice combo Aloha!  Amber Bone is looking good on the Trapper.
Opinel is one knife model I have not purchased yet, only retailer I have seen in stock is Cabela’s, and seemed larger than pocket carry. Need to learn more, and visit their web site. Nice value like Mora’s iirc!

Changing up my pocket carry this evening!  Dinner for daughter’s BD and her husband always asks “what knife I have in my pocket?”

He has seen my Canoes and Robeson but never this Sowbelly!

I learned a couple months ago, that this model with the 2 X bullet shell shield was a dealer exclusive if the dealer ordered from CASE at that years SHOT Show! 2016.

Thought interesting, but not able to confirm yet via CASE

Opinel and Mora are a fair comparison.  They both are great value as well as terrific knives.  I have a couple #8s and one #7 which interestingly is "much" smaller.

The round shape is not bad at all.  I used to carry it next to my wallet ( front pocket ) comfortably.

Opinels are thin so they are very slicey.  I hadn't carried mine in a while for no other reason than neglect.  I don't know the age of this one but it was without locking feature when closed so I cut a notch in.  I got this one about 2015 and have carried it off and on.  Its fun to revisit old friends.

Opinels are great inexpensive knives. My No. 6 (shown below next to a Rough Ryder Congress) would run you $17, and you get free shipping with orders over $45 at opinel-usa.com. I believe Knife Center, SMKW, and DLT Trading carry them as well. At such a low price, they're well worth trying.

And by the way, I believe the Case with the cartridge shield was indeed a SHOT Show exclusive.

Cheap, cheerful and the knife that really got me back into carrying trads again; Richards penknife.
