I have the tools!
on: September 17, 2008, 01:21:28 AM
Def was most jenerous to allow me to borrow these. i cannot believe the workmanship on them and It really does work well to take apart the Crunch, not one buggered up screw. I am planning a swap of the blade on the crunch to get a reg blade on it. However I will still have to shorten it to get the blade to fit in. so wish me luck!

Yea I'd be interested in seeing the Crunch mod when it's done!

I don't usually carry a serrated blade, so I really like the one in my Crunch...I use it for rope and other dirty stuff and use the serrated blade on my Spirit for food.

I have my crunch apart and now I just got to find the blade to put in it. I cant find the one I got at the meet and make. And it is choking me off.

It would be the easiest mod to ever make! And I wanted to put a clip on it.

Can't find a blade? Maybe babyhawkchucker will let you use the one that came out of her handydandy tool? ;) :D

What will you do Hawk? Grind down a PST blade or something?

I'm just looking at a Crunch, and there's not a lot of space in there when it's closed up is there? It looks as though you'll have to cut a notch in there too, as the pin for the lock mechanism will stop a PST type blade folding in. In fact the notch on the back of the blade (for the lock) is different to the PST too  :o

That looks trickier than I first thought.

I hope you can pull it off - it will be a great mod.

I used to come here a lot.

PST blade and I will have to take the lanyard loop out. The notch will also have to be cut in, but I have a dremell and will keep the blade very cool.

I never even thought about the blade width - but I see what you mean now.

This is going to keep you out of mischief for a while John. We will need pics though - can you rise to that challenge?

I used to come here a lot.

Would a sideclip blade already be short enough?
