A new BUCK arrived and I am very pleased.

The 112 Slim Select Pro is my normal EDC Work horse.

I couple people suggested I should give look see at the new 790 and 791 models.  Magnacut is offered, ELITE Models.

I did look at them during Labor Day weekend, and studied the specs, the three handle colors and the when I went to order the elite in White/Grey, “out of stock”!
Only Black remained

I then turned my attention to the PRO models.

154CM blades, less dollars, grey handles too!

Reconfirm size and a bit larger (791), and a little smaller (790)

The 791 Pro arrived, very nice, the new lock works.

154 CM blade is sharp, (who needs Magnacut, I think)

Glad to see a report on one of these, and that you are pleased with it.

I looked at them when they were announced.  Somewhat interested in the 791 Elite over the Pro, more for the aluminum handles than the Magnacut (I agree with your assessment that most users won’t see a meaningful difference vs. 154CM).  But they were just too salty.  Moreover, I couldn’t tell what differentiates them in a very crowded market segment (locking OHO blades about 3.25” long with pocket clips).

Thank you Gary and Nate

Two reasons I went with the Pro,

1.  The Elite was in my cart, white or was it grey. Went to pay, the wheel just turned and turned.
It was out of stock.  Also, the green. Black was it, and I have plenty of black handled knifes.

2.  The Pro did not have aluminum handles, glass filled nylon that Buck has built other knives with sturdy.  And, I truly felt I was leaning more for the 154CM for my EDC. Plus it was $$s less.

Aluminum handles without texture would most likely be a show piece.

The Pro has a super nice texture, and same shape handle as my 112 Slim Select Pro.  More belly on the blade.  And it was more cost justifiable than the last several BOTM offerings. Almost tempted on the last MARKSMAN🥹

I am a BUCK fan, and the roller bar lock is new school. So far I like it.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

A 110 SLIM SELECT IN Orange is a great choice!

Thank you calling out the 112 Micarta. It has aged very well.

My first SS was a 112 in RED.   It is in one of my travel / hiking bags.   Sharpens up to cut up any task in to smaller .

I do hope you are getting along great Noah

FYI, I finally begin to embrace the Vic SPARTAN for utility daily carry. It started with a Serrated blade model.

But, BUCKs get my HD use as big folder knives go.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Well I said I had plenty of clip point blades, and even black handled cutters as well.

Then a “make an offer” plea from an auction seller.

So after some pondering, what the heck, low balled the price, expecting a counter offer, nope!   Think the seller was sick of relisting.  (Pawn broker I think)

Arrived Saturday when I was away, found in mail box yesterday.

Inspected, stropped and oiled the pivot.    Sharp as a dickens. (Use your imagination), action smooth as silk and it is yet a clip point.

Add to my family of Saunters😊

Guess you can not have to many CPs or Black knives 😜

That’s the version I have (CP, black handle) and it is a fantastic little cutter.
