I saw one at REI and while it looked cool I passed on it. If I were to come across one at a bargain I know I would come home with it. I'm not much for jewelry so I don't know if I'd actually wear it.
I have one and need to put it through its paces and review this Leatherman product that it's worthy of. I hear so many negative comments and horrible reviews that bash this item so mad. Yes it's not a traditional multitool but for Leatherman to step out on a limb and try something completely different I feel it's worth a solid review. I don't think it's as bad as my wife says, I've got titanium bracelets and big watches with metal bands but she says it looks like I am a biker or I should have some gauges in my ears and tattoos. I honestly don't feel it's that bad and could definitely wear it everyday. I'm going to have to do so to give it the review it deserves.Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Tim Leatherman wears that thing everywhere, he seems to be very into it. And he looks to have small wrists. It could even be handy for someone not wanting to wear it. Like a mountain biker. 🚵 It's definitely seems to be a niche market. Also, hasn't someone posted on moddingnit into a watch demel?
It's a better than nothing type tool. But when are most of us on the go without at least a sak?
There are few 'isues' that I feel are linked to this piece of tool/gadget.First, there are people with smaller wrists which will have to simply optimize the remaining links selection to their core needs, then swap them if the need for another tool arises. One LM FB poster reported he wears two, S/S and DLC, one on each wrist to get access to a full set of Tread's tool implements. People laughed at his idea, not surprisingly. Then there's people who bought it with a LM watch and others which started integrating the Tread with different watch heads of theirs, LM's Facebook page is full of them. Those usually loose 2-3 links, depending on the watch size or lug-to-lug distances. While the links were supposed to be made of a sturdy 17-4 S/S, many have reported they appear soft, leading to damaged tips on tool implements. Lastly, it's an over-priced, over-sized men jewelry, heavy one at that, depending on place and country you live in and your build and stature the Tread may appear 'over the top' or just silly looking on a grown up.
I doubt this thread was started to become a Leatherman bashing thread. Real feedback from usage is better than speculation. I've seen some threads on other forms that I don't want to see here.
I can't seem to figure out which has more weight, the Tread or an Invicta Pro Diver watch?
Surprised not to have seen enough Treads linked end to end that someone would had made a neck choker from it.
OK day one... customer asked me what I had on my wrist. I told him what it was and he said it looks like I'm into S and M. I'm not amused....Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
