That is a nice photo...the tree and the mushroom reminds me of a Japanese painting. The mushroom a house, and the tree mountains.

Some very nice pics!

I'm by no means an expert, so I don't know what I stumbled upon this morning...

Cheers!

Reading on another thread, it was suggested that the IPad would be a great item to have in your BOB...because of the the ability to store books. Books = information. The type of information that could save your life. There are a lot of PDF’s out there. One that I have added is on mushrooms!
Common Edible Mushrooms by Clyde M. Christensen. He is a professor at the University of Minnesota. It is 142 pages of what not to eat and the ones that are, with photos.
Great photos Ron.

IPads are great while power lasts. It´s better to store the info in your brain.

True, unfortunately, I have that covered...a portable solar panel to keep things charged! Love free power.  :tu:

Interesting one this, ok its not really a mushroom but this Hair ice is only possible thanks to a fungus, it only happens to certain woods at a certain temperature in certain weather, i wouldn't call it super rare but it's not something you will see every day  :tu:

I've seen this in the past. Assuming they were white hairy fungi.
A couple of days ago they made the news and it's actually ice formed by moist air coming from the fungi.
Really amazing.

Yeah it is amazing, when i was a kid i used to try and pick it up and was puzzled how it would vanish as soon as you touched it, how could it possibly be frost where there is no other frost around and rising up like very thin hair,  it wasn't till many years later i found out what it was  :tu:

I always assumed it was a fungus. When I walked the dog in the morning they would be there, and during the afternoon they would be gone. That did puzzle me on occasion, but I'm no mycologist and figured it was a species that only appeared at night.
