Spartan/Tinker Family Tree
on: November 11, 2016, 10:39:08 PM
I'm not much of a collector at this point, but I do find SAKs fascinating. I've spent a lot of time at sakwiki, com, but as a visual person, I have trouble connecting all the dots between models.  I gather I'm not the first one to make a graphical representation, but I still felt compelled to do it.

Some notes: It is a work in progress.  I left out non-electronic scale tools and the mini-screwdriver, since it's pretty easy to get those items for any SAK,  I left out any of the SAKs that are based on the Spartan/Tinker but replace one of the basic tools (e.g., serrated made blade instead of regular main blade).  I might add them in at some point.  I also left out variations in models over time (I think I mostly went with the most recent variation).  I did not distinguish between minor variations in tools (e.g., reamer with our without the sewing eye), though I do indicate if the hook has the nail file (simply because that's important to me).

If you see anything wrong, please let me know.

Enjoy.

It looks very nice to me(am a novice though).  :like:  :salute:

Sad to see so many nice discontinued combinations.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

So I'm not the only one who thought of this!
When I look at SAKs, I basically think of them as a knife plus other tools, for example the Hiker is a Tinker but with a Saw, or the climber is a Spartan but with scissors and the hook.
