Thank you again, Myron!
I put on the Universal Geneve this morning and did some quick research after taking my EDC photos. The caliber 261 15J movement is somewhat rare and kind of desirable in the mid low-end vintage watch spectrum. The only other watches I found with the 261 were your standard round cases, and usually gold plated. The steel square-case is likely to be the best watch with that movement from what I can tell. Circa 1943 or so.

I decided to give some wrist time to the watch I worked on half the night, last night. A Girard Perregaux Gyromatic Automatic 17J. Started by removing the movement and scraping out the disintegrated sealCleaned the dial/hands (has some patina spotting left, but turned out fine ), polised the crystal, put a new leather band on, and gave the case a good cleaning.

Photos below. :)

Good strap choice as well. :like:
I see some dive watches with cheap-o replacement rubber two-piece bands and the whole look is ruined.. :ahhh

Thanks, I appreciate the up-vote!  All my timepieces now wear NATO BluShark's.  Just because they rock!

Very nice Vostok, eTripper! :like:
I'm gonna have to wear a big modern diver tomorrow.  :)

Today at the orthopaedic doctor today, so wanted something simple.
So, a vintage 1965 Bulova 17J Wind-up(34mm - big for a vintage) did the trick. One of my favorite dials on an old watch. :)

The first real watch, I ever purchased was a Bulova from the Navy Exchange.  Truly, yours is an understated classic, much like those vintage watches from:   Wittnauer, and Gruen.  I have a [quartz-digital] Seiko Aqualand diver, that I'm considering putting back-into service. Cheers!

Went with a quartz, today.  A SEAL Luminox on a Blu Shark, of course!

Very nice watches(both of you) I always wanted one of those seal watches, one with those tube hour makers that never stop glowing for like 10yrs?
Idk what the one invicta diver is, it’s not a grand, but it’s got the extra long rubber straps and can take the extra depth some 10 something(I think) but I’m not going anywhere so no watch is getting worn..
JR

It’s that one right there, sorry pic sucks..

Taking out the Automatic Tag Heuer AquaRacer. :)

This is a mid-1990s model with the 25J automatic movement. Lumis isn't what it used to be, but still works well enough for anything I'm going to do.

I’ve wanted this citizen for so long, it’s analog, solar, the hours are in numbers rather then just marks, along with min, and it’ has both date and day, the only thing it’s not is atomic.. then it would be perfect in my book, I’m sure there’s one out there but then I’m sure the price would be waaaaaay up there..

Do you travel often, JR? Aside from that and adjusting for DST, I can't see a real strong advantage that would make atomic worth the extra money.

The only traveling I do is to the store or to the doctors office, the one I wore yesterday is atomic, but it’s not solar or self-winding, unlike the Casio that I wear mostly everyday, that’s everything, atomic, solar, day, date, even nightlight, but it’s digital.  The only nice thing to atomic is like no matter what you know you got the right time, your not even off by a few sec.. even the DST and travel doesn’t always work especially for travel, cause even if you go to a diff time zone you have to adjust it, just because you crossed the line doesn’t change it..
