1970 Seiko Automatic Chronograph today.
It really needed to be wound up and worn. Been too long. :ahhh
It isn't in great shape, but these are getting hard to find.

It's in good enough condition, Seiko don't have the case parts for those any more, just keep it, service it  and enjoy it  :tu:

Something different today for something I’m writing at the moment. Thing is I didn’t follow my own advice. In my defence it was my grandfathers watch.

Spaceviews were most popular in the 1960s. There are removed-dial conversions of other Accutrons until Bulova phased out the Accutron(1976 or 1978 - it was supposed to be 76', but I have a 219 movement [half fork] from 1978). Th example I pictured is a genuine 1967 Spaceview. It has the early 214 movement (most desirable).

If you're thinking of buying one, please buy one that has been recently serviced. Running an Accutron without a service is dicey at best. :ahhh

I didn't want to be the one to tell you that Accutrons are bottomless money pits. They are amazing watches though. :ahhh

I've been wearing my Momentum Atlas the last several days, but yesterday my oldest daughter asked me if I could wear the watch she got me, so I'm happily back to the timex weekender 40.

My favorite watch that I've owned, because it came from her.

On a serious note; I am considering selling off some of the watches to buy a couple of watches I actually REALLY (like a Speedmaster) want. Unlike MTs, watches go bad quickly, without being maintained and worn. :ahhh

With a good mechanical watch you are looking at a service once every 5 years or so.

I think of them like cars, you have to maintain them or they will let you down, but also think about the fact a car isn't expected to work for 5 years non-stop without breaking down.

I would recommend buying ONE decent watch and seeing how you get on with it. I don't have as many watches as some others do, but every watch I have has a story behind it or a reason for me buying it (other than the magpie factor, ooo look, it's shines, I want it).

Lovely watches gents.  I want yet I know better.   I KNOW better.  I've seen the rabbit hole some have fallen into.  Watches unlike MTs or even folders to an extent is a big dollar hobby.  My only regret is not buying when deals were to be had, HOWEVER, I'm not sure I didn't make the right decision.  I do not want to take care of such items in this stage of my life.

No. After watching the woman struggle with putting on the watch case back using a watch press...I think I may need to buy one before I start to muck around with battery replacements.

Today, I wore a Seiko 5 Sport.
