However FWIW I was issued with a Pioneer when I did my madatory military service back in 1989  :D

I was enlisted into the army some 20 years ago so I'm giving my input based on vague memory of my own military experience... The first 3 months was basic military training which included jungle warfare. So I used the main blade, woodsaw and can opener quite often. Then I was posted out to the engineers division where I learnt basic demolition and used pliers and bottle opener (as a prybar) often. Then I was posted to my final unit where I spent the next 2 years as an assault boat coxswain and I had to use the philips screwdriver to tune my engine... I ended my 2.5 years of national service with a short stint in Thailand, indulging in cheap beer everyday so the bottle opener came in handy once again  :facepalm:

I did not use a single multitool for all the above back then but if I had to choose 1 from the SAK arsenal, I'd pick the craftsman
