How do you think the "hammer"?
Looks like it is the main differentiation between other tools. Is it hard enough to be use as a hammer? Given the weight of a MT I don't expect it to be very serious but at least it has to be hard enough to be a hammer...  For the whistle, sharpener and the ferro rod, the are a bit marginal for real use I think but they could be nice to be a backup.

The hammer is definitely usable. In addition to the hammer and plastic stuff, the signal does have a saw, awl, can opener, lock, full size bit driver, replaceable wire cutters, and a much bigger plier head (when talking about what skeletool doesn't have). Many still claim that the skeletool is better for edc and I agree with that in this case. Especially for someone who is not a multi tool nut. It has everything you need normally on a day to day basis and fits it in the lightest most efficient size possible. They are both very polarizing tools around here. Im lucky enough to like them both :tu:

The hammer is good, I recently had to put a few extra holes in a belt and all I had was the Signal, belt and hole punch. It took about 10 good hard punches but it did the job OK. I would not want to hammer all day with it, your hand will be toast after that!!! The rest of the tool is pretty tough. I did a 30 day challenge recently and there was NOTHING the tool could not do. This included a few days in the garden too.
