Esquire--Sterling Silver Scales?
on: December 14, 2016, 12:27:21 AM
I snagged this knife of Camping Survival for a whopping $7.50  because it looked to have the Sterling Silver scales.

Is it true that this one is sterling silver?

As per quick look at the SAKWiki pics, I'd say it's brushed stainless steel, sterling silver scales look quite different...

Waiting for confirmation from SAK-Powers that be on this forum :D

It looks like SS and I was not aware of an esquire with silver scales.

There is  a small stamp on the right of the scales something that is  used for silver products but it does not look like it is the silver quality mark..

Still, it's a really nice little Wenger... easily worth a $7. I'd pay more if I could find one.

Thanks guys.  Now that I know that it isn't silver, one, it will be easier to maintain (no having to polish it all the time), and secondly, I can carry it some. Actually, being stainless steel handled is better.

Actually there are a number of Esquires with silver handles (top row).
