Hey all,
 Anybody see that auction on eBay for the nib leatherman tools? It showed a pic of a sideclip, flair, micra, st, pst, pulse, couple others too. It just showed the boxes, no tools in pics. There was like 2 hrs left, and it was only at like $50, I email the seller asking what the story was? Is this just boxes? Are the tools in the boxes? Etc.... they got back to me and said the auction was for 1 tool, winners pick. It said nothing about 1tool, it was 11 pics with 11 different tools. Winning bid was $388.00! Someone is going to be extremely upset!!!!!! Scam

I haven't seen that one but thanks for the heads up about it :tu: I would be very mad as well >:(

Hmmm.....  I also asked the seller about this one, specifically if the auction was for the boxes only or were there tools inside the boxes ?  This was the answer I got:

No mention of only 1 tool, so I bid (hoping to get them for a bargain price).  If I had won and the seller only sent one tool I'd be really P.O'd, and at the prices finally bid obviously everyone else was also expecting to get ALL the tools listed.  I predict some seriously annoyed messages between the seller and the winner of this particular auction  :pok:

Aren't buyers on eBay, especially since ebay owns PayPal, protected from these sheisters?

I was in that auction, outbid at the last minute. I asked him if the auction was for the whole lot and did not get an answer. Having dealt with bad sellers/ scammer on eBay before, I was not concerned with losing money as long as I followed eBay dispute process.

That seller is definitely fishy. Those tool values varies widely. I do not believe he did not check their values before listing. The winner of that auction should have ground to dispute, as pictures and wording suggested the auction was for the whole lot.

Seller is a brand new account, from 12/23/16. There's nothing in the listing about picking one tool, so it looks like he now owes someone all of them. Quite a stupid scam if that's the case. He's definitely shot himself in the foot.

I would say he told them to pick one and they told him where to stick it :o :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :D

I would expect to see that the buyer gets a refund if he already paid but hopefully the seller asked him which tool first and he didn't pay at all :D

These scammers are not trying to start a career- they will be back next week with another account and new listings.  If a Paypal payment is made the seller will immediately withdraw it and run off with the money.  Paypal will refund the buyer's money, but the seller will already have another new account on the go and more fake stuff for sale.  This is why eBay and Paypal fees are so high.  These jackasses are stealing from Paypal, but they are really stealing from all of us, because that is where Paypal ets their money from.

I thought paypal only gives the seller its money after a month (or 3? ) has passed or after a positive review is left on ebay 

ebay and paypal separated a while ago, by the way, for legal reasons.

I have gotten some bargains from people with very little feedback as most potential buyers are scared to bid
