The Maratac AAA (and Fenix E01 and E05, for that matter) can take a transparent chapstick cap as a cheap and recycled diffuser.

The Maratac AAA has difusser of his brand but not strobe mode.
Thank you very much

I just realized I never completed my thought, what I was meaning was, at least for the diffuser, to not get too caught up on that requirement, as you will likely be able to use a clear chapstick lid as one, if you get a single AAA flashlight.  Sorry about my incomplete thoughts.

Didn't some of the Klaus models also have the light levels you're looking for, too? I don't think Fenix puts strobe in their AAA lights.

I very much like my Thrunite Ti ( xmas edition ).  At 160 on high and strobe its pretty sweet.  The medium mode is always interesting on lights in the AAA group.  The levels on the Ti are .5/12/162/strobe.

As to the diffuser.  A lip balm cap works awesome.  You can get burts bees lip balm and have a yellow diffuser.

I've also been looking at the AAA light offerings and many run 30 min on high which should be more than enough but worth noting.

I like the OLight I3 EOS in brass.  High is 180 for 30secs then steps down to 90lm.  No strobe.

The Ultatac K18 running 10440s is 360lm.

ITP A3 is 150lm high for about an hour.  modes are 150/60/.2/strobe.

These are the ones I am currently looking at.  I can tell you for sure I will be picking up another Thrunite Ti since I do like mine very much.
