Hi there! I am considering getting myself a new (stainless steel) Leatherman Tread. I have several other Leatherman multitools, so I will not be buying this to get work done with it, but mostly to look cool on my wrist. Since this is a relatively new product, there’s very little information about the actual durability of the bracelet in the long term. Here are my questions to all owners of Leatherman Tread out there, preferably people that have own it for over a year or wear it every day:
- Is the clasp reliable? I have read several comments of people complaining about it.
- Are the screws of the individual links holding tight? Again, it seems a lot of people have problems with those.
- Anyone wearing one daily and working a desk job, involving a lot of typing on a keyboard? Does the Tread gets in the way?
- What about the weight/bulk? My wrist is 16.5 cm (6.5 inches), and I am okay with wearing a watch of around 100 grams.
What I am not concern about – the fact it’s expensive for what it is, the softer steel and the general lack of practicality. All I care is will this hold up to general wear and tear on the wrist the same way a quality watch would do and not break/fall apart.
