Victorinox SwissChamp XL (pic heavy !!!)
on: July 30, 2015, 12:04:59 AM
Here's the sixth topic on knives I brought home with me from Switzerland (yes, they keep on coming don't they  ;)).

This one is the one I was most happy with, I bought it at the same shop where I bought my Wenger Rangers and the Mike Horn Wenger.

It was actually my wife who noticed they also had a small display behind the counter.  And when I looked over there I saw this dark red old style Victorinox box and just knew this was something that I had to check out.

Turned out it was a Swisschamp XL, brand new in box, with the original manual.

Enjoy the pics  :salute:.

Nice get. What's the part number on the box? 1.6795.XL or 1.6799?

Thanks for the heads up mate  :salute:.

I was choosing pics from a Swisstool when I was writing this topic, so much for multi-tasking ...  ::)
And now I've accidentally gave away a bit of what is still to come ... .

How many are there beyond Swiss Champ? I have an XLT, I know of two others including the XVAT which is in production, but how many others were made in some configuration of the base SC?

Photo below is my XLT and the Evogrip S54.. The Evo is my current EDC.

Nice catch!

XL, XLT, XXLT, and XAVT. XL and XXLT are out of production, XLT and XAVT are still in production.

Cool to see somebody checking out this topic almost two years after the last reaction  :2tu:.

I'm still very happy I found this one, and after viewing this topic again I think I'm going to dig it up out of my collection to fiddle with it a bit  :climber:.

Old thread but still a great knife  :D
I also have a XL and a XLT. I prefer the XLT
which was my EDC a couple of month before
I switched to the CT41.

What a great catch :2tu:

Did you really pay only CHF 99 for this rare bird?  :o

Yes I did, I bought it at a bookstore/tourist shop in the town of Meiringen in Switzerland for the price of 99 CHF, I also bought two Wenger "real tree snow camo" Rangers, an Orange Blaze Ranger and a small Mike Horn Wenger at the same shop.

Never spend so much cash on "souveniers" like during my vacation to Switzerland ...  ::)
