... might also be too much pressure on the pin(s). Take off the scales and pour boiling water over the knife (heat expansion might loosen a bit of the pressure).Open all tools gently a couple of times, put some oil in it.And hope ;-)Tomcat
Hey Roc,anything new here? Keeping my can-openers crossed!;-)Tomcat
Sounds like maybe it's either rubbing on something or the scissors or maybe the liner is bent ?
Here's how you loosen Vic pins remove the scales open a vice just wide enough for the pin bushing to fit with no pressure then tap on the peened end on top with a small punch. Take your time use a small hammer.Mike
Once ( in quite a lot of knives I've tried my luck on) I messed up the pin so it bent inside the hole of the blade. Weird, I know, but that brought a lot of difficulties...Have you checked the spring on the inside- any small cracks?Tomcat
Gooood!
Ive had old backsprings like that would be, crack internally near the pivot area. So if you are taking it apart again inspect for anything like that. Sometimes the liners can also crack and then the layers towards the center will have less snap.
