Some evenings ago my father, an elderly man with somewhat weak eyes, was not able to see the point of a drudge. This was when I thought my XLT SAK would save the day. Without makong any fuss i grabbed it from my pocket and folded out the magnifying lens. My father uttered it didn't work particularly well. I was puzzeled and put a finger agaonst it - it went through. There was only the hole left, the lens had gone. Bad luck! I will let you know what will come from Victorinox, I already ordered a spare part. So long...
Hilarious story! (It would seem your eyes aren't too good either  :D).

I would have picked it (using a pop or beer can and a pair of scissors).

Yup, that's why I carry lockpicks. Legality may depend on country/state/region. But here it's perfectly legal.
It saved me on more than one occasion.

I plan to make lockpicks I can stow in a SAK, but that's a work in progress.

I got locked in a park once.  On Halloween I went to join a blacksmithing club and well fell behind when leaving and got locked in for about two hours.  I didn't know any one so the best I could do was send emails that got seen the next day.  And while I was carrying a number of  chisels and hammers that could of likely done the job I was trying to avoid the whole destruction of property thing.  Luckily just as I was trying to find the non-emergency police number someone came by with keys.

Really should of gotten a better look at the key number.

Just another weirdo with a beard :B:

A bag of tube ice we were to use for a party melted a bit causing the ice cubes to fuse together.  As there was no ice pick nearby and I didn't want to smash the bag of ice against kitchen tiles, I had to improvise -- normally an in-line awl would do the job (without chipping the awl) but the only one I had on me was a minichamp  :ahhh Had to use the pointed nail file   off course that took forever and I just ended up opening drawers to find a kitchen knife instead.....

The best time I got locked in was years ago, when I worked for a cleaning company.
At the end of the night the entire crew was moving our stuff out. We had to exit through a long hallway that was compartmentalised.
Although we clearly mentioned that our work would take until after midnight they set the badges (electronic locks) at 0:00.
So when we were moving through we all got locked in a compartment. Like mice in a lab.  :ahhh
Took over two hours for someone to come and release us.
Luckily I had my backpack with me with something to eat and drink.
Ah well, at least I got paid to sit there  :D
