Here's a working pic of my modified Leatherman ST200.  I used it to cut off the 3/4" steel banding straps off a piece of material today at work.   :multi:

You've flattened out the side locks, right?  Do they still work or are you back to using it like an original ST?  Looks very well done either way.  :hatsoff:

He said he uses the lock system like an OG ST :salute: That tidbit is coming from another thread in which he has already been asked that question  Cause we were all kinda curious :D

I'm not going to flatten the sidelocks, but I am going to try using my Pulse like the OG Supertool.  I never minded that set up.

Yeah, I used a OG Supertool for years and it never bothered me.  IIRC an old member Bob got a prototype Supertool with the rolled edges but no cut-outs made for the locks.

I think the ST200 unlock mechanism is a work of genius with the double cams but it just does not feel good in the hand to me the way they protrude from the handles.  No cutouts with the rolled edges would be sweet.

I bought a ST300 and carried it for a few weeks trying to like it, but it didn't fit me like the ST200 did.  I then modified the ST300 to be more like the ST200, but still wasn't liking it so back to the ST200 I went.

I agree that the roll locks are a extremely interesting design but I think they work much better on the Pulse than the do on the ST200.  Much less resistance on the Pulse and when they're scaled up on the 200 they're much more noticeable in the hand.

I noticed that when I've used a 200.   Just the same, whoever designed that locking mechanism was creative!

I actually gave my new in the package BO ST200 away to a friend a few years ago. I never really liked the look of them, but I did have one. Sacrilege I know.   :twak:

Nice collection of ST200s !   :tu:    You will soon have me beat ( I also have 13, but no more on the way)

Do you have any SS with CC pliers ? (these seemed quite hard to find)

It's not so much of a collection as it is a hoard.  :o  They don't make these anymore and I wanted to make sure I never run out of my favorite LM long after the warranty expires. I got issues.

I just have the regular pliers style.  Only differences I have noticed on the unmodified ones is some may have a few more hours of use than others in the fact the plier handles are a bit easier to deploy.   Other than that, they are all barely used, unlike the 3 modified ones I have in rotation.  Those have some serious hours of use on them, but they are still holding up to the abuse they get from me.   :multi:

So none have USA on the plier head and all say tool? I was just wondering since you had so many that there might be a few subtle differences  :salute:

Got it.  My very first LM ST200 dated 11/01 has the Leatherman USA on the pliers.  I abused this set a long time ago and unfortunately I broke off about 1/4" off the tip.

The ones with USA on the plier head are a bit more rare and actually the production of these may actually be an overlap with the OG Supertool :salute:

Got it.  My very first LM ST200 dated 11/01 has the Leatherman USA on the pliers.

As far as I can tell the early production ST200s all had "USA" on the pliers (same as the OgST), while all the later ones had "TOOL" on the pliers.

Some handle dates from my older SuperTools:

OgST                - earliest: 0496/0596, latest: 1100/1200

ST200 "USA"    - earliest: 0901/1001, latest: 1201/0102 (I also have a pre-production ST200 made for the SHOT show, with no date codes (and laser etched handles, not stamped)

ST200 "TOOL"  - earliest: 1102/0203, latest: 0204/0304
