ballpoint pen in other SAKs?

Dumb question: can I buy a Vic ballpoint pen and just use it in a Tinker or other SAK?

The SAK needs to have what is called "Plus" scales in order to hold the pen. Thses scales can be bought separately if the SAK doesn't already have them.

TBH, I have no idea as I am not a huge user of the pens on SAK's.

The pen's last pretty well, the one in my Swisschamp still works and that's 15 years old

I've known of a few people that bought the pens to keep tucked in their wallets as an emergency writing tool. AFAIK the pens are about the only non-Vic made item in a Vic SAK,they're made by Fisher.

There was also mention on SOSAK that the pens were made by Cross.

wow that the first I heared of that, Do they use the same technology used in there regular pen? Can you write with the pen upside down with the sak pen?

I've seen some gift sets that have a Victorinox SAK and a Cross pen and the package was labeled Victorinox.
