Hi Team,

One thing the Wiki is not really that great on is historical dates and model/tool evolutions
It's something that we really need to try and improve.

As a small step towards that and as a result of some info from Elsinox and MiniChamp
It seem like we had some information on the 58mm family development and evolution not quite right

As a result of that the Classic, 58mm main, Princess and Pocket Pal pages have been updated
Please check them out and let me know if they are OK......

Thanks

:iagree: We had a discussion about dates and tool evolutions a while back. I'll have a look at the Pocket Pal page, as that's a model that is of interest to me.

I don't know my dates so I can't comment on that but, everything appears to be in proper order.  Bad part is perusing the pages reminded of all the colors I don't have.

Done a bit more work on this now and the following pages have all been updated with some historical information:
Classic, 58mm main, Princess, Pocket Pal, Climber, Camper, Spartan, Huntsman, Officer's Knife
Typically the History and Identifiers sections have been updated and maybe the main top panel

Please check them out and let me know if they are OK and if there is anything to add ......

I read your other post about it.  I'd never heard of these SAKs until I saw your post.  Very cool.

Noticed that Wenger Universal Wrench is 1980 on SakWiki  https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Universal+Wrench but tool is on Windjammer on 1979 catalog. https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-browse_image.php?galleryId=99&sort_mode=imageId_asc&imageId=2660&scalesize=o.

If im correct Universal Wrench is from 1979, i dunno is it earlier but as on seen 1979 catalog its 1979 not 1980, i may be wrong but by judging catalog its was introduced 1979 first time.

Also looked throught https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,37957.0.html North Man says that Universal Wrench was introduced 1977 but i cant find source to back this up.

Did some more research and finded "1975 Owner's guide from 1975 for Wenger 85mm" posted by ICanFixThat https://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=32456.msg541416#msg541416 it seems Universal Wrench is least from 1975 as seen on picture presenting it. (if that is from 1975 Owner's guide)

You are a right little detective Sir Antti - Wanna be on the Wiki editorial staff ?   :pok:   ???
And I knew this was going to happen  :o   - In that, as soon as I changed the date we'd find it was wrong   :twak:

Anyway that is a great find - And that 1975 date does seem to correlate for the guide - and therefore for wrench intro date - As in that tool guide we have the old dog-leg can-opener, which the can-opener page in the Wiki says was phased out around 1975 !! - My turn for detective work   ;)

So I'll update it to 1975 -
I also added the image from ICFT's post to the Wiki Tool page

Anyone else got anything?   ???

This is really good as dates are a weak topic for the Wiki - So any improvements in this area are great    :tu: :tu: :tu:

Im kinda bad editing wiki so i would prefer if more pros keep it up.

Noticed also that owners guide that Small Nail File has diffrent kind surface (older had crosscut file) so it must been change between 1970-1975 but cannot find accurate info on it. 1970 catalog had crosscut nail file and 1975 owners guide has ceramic Nail file

Some info was on North Man post stating "1971 patent application without drawings, describes nailfile and its production, mentioned .2 - .4 % carbon and 13 – 14 % Crome, RC 53-57" but it really doesnt mention did they change file type

Thank you for all you do to keep that wonderful site up to date.
I just picked up a nice example of an 84mm Camper/"Camper Small" and I would love to help add it to the 3 layer 84mm Vic page.  I did not come with the box therefore I can't supply the model number, but I can give lots of nice photos to choose from.
Can I just PM you those?

A small typo found here: we should read Economy instead of Ecomomy  :D
