I know it's not Tuesday any more, but I've been carrying a 91mm Tinker in my pocket for about a week straight now. I really like the 2 layer SAKs for loose pocket carry and they pair well with a 58mm like my Rambler.

The back Phillips may not be the most useful tool Victorinox has ever made, but I do get some use out of it from time to time. And I find it to be useful just as much, if not more often, than the corkscrew despite the multiple "unofficial" uses of the corkscrew that we all know about. The corkscrew might have more uses than the back Phillips but... they still don't seem to come up very often for me, even combined.  :dunno:

YMMV, though. Everyone's life and circumstances are different, after all.

The other thing I like about the back Phillips is the relatively smooth profile and feel in the hand that it gives a SAK. It carries a little slimmer in the pocket and feels a good bit nicer in the hand than the corkscrew does sometimes. At least I think so. Basically, it's as close to a 91mm Recruit as I'm likely to get!

I can go either way. Personally, I don’t find that I use either the corkscrew or the back Phillips very often regardless of which I happen to have on me.

I do like having the awl back there though!

Nice Nitecore too, worth it?

It's gotten us through several Disney adventures and a few nights in the wild. I like it!

I didn't know there was a Tinker Tuesday.  I did use this one to open mail myself.  Does anybody see anything different about this particular one?  Best wishes. Gary

91mm, Tony.  Let's see if anyone else will take a guess.  My sister bought that Tinker in Switzerland about 1991 maybe.  After my Dad retired, he started carrying it.  He kept it in his pocket as long as he was able to handle things.  Then I laid it back.  I carry it now and then.  The scales got a good polish just yesterday.  It was the first black SAK I had ever seen.  There is something different however.  Take a good look.  Best wishes and happy Tinker Tuesday to awl.  Best wishes G

Bingo.  Our sharp-eyed friend from Canada got it first try.  When Dad started carrying the Tinker, he complained about the key ring.  I took it off.  He carried it a day or two.  He complained about the key ring nub.  So I took a Dremel and cut and ground it off.  No more complaints.
Dad has gone down that long canyon trail where the tracks all point in one direction.  All going out and none coming back.  The black de-horned Tinker is mine now.  It does feel better without the ring and nub.
There is no prize for the correct answer, but if you are ever down here I will see to it that you get a nice gold star pasted on your head.  For SAK excellence above and beyond the call.  Best wishes. Gary

By the way, I did learn something from our good friend Tony.  I never knew there was such a thing as black toothpicks and tweezers.  Thank you, Tony.  Best wishes. Gary

Thought I'd post a pic since I didn't for Spartan Saturday. Here's the Super Tinker with the space scales. I couldn't resist the UFO poster with it.

I’m glad, Gary. My  Tinkers have been seeing more action lately so it was fun to bust one out especially for Tuesday.

I think you should consider introducing yourself through the New Member Forum section of this site.  Don't have to write a big story.  Where you are from.  What you like.  A little about who you are, if you feel comfortable with that.  It lets everyone get familiar with you a little.  Make some friends.  Best wishes.  Gary
