I actually had a cap buster like the old one I found when I was a pup.  The hammer and trigger are one piece with a spring and toggle over to make a snap.  You have to tear off one paper cap at a time and slide it down into a slot in front of the hammer.  Zinc of course.  They must have made those things for a really long time.  I knew the old man who owned the one I found, so I got a pretty got date on it from the 1930s.
The chicken looking thing is a whistle.  Yellow on one side and green on the other.  It has a little paddle-wheel thing that spins inside when you toot on it.  No info on the owl.  Don't remember where it came from.
I posted in the Keychain Tool section a couple of small multis that were in the same bunch of stuff.  See if they look familiar.  It is the rare family that some member didn't have one.  Best wishes.  Gary

MTSAK - I love those ruby scales.

My Tinker sat around and did nothing today.  I actually carried my re-scaled Forester M Grip around all day.

Is that the one you got from Sos24?  Tinkers are great.  I thought about putting a Spartan in my pocket after next week.  Might just carry my Dad's old black Tinker a while.  I would hate to lose it.  It doesn't have a ring anymore.  Just have to be careful.  I already lost it once, but got lucky and found it again.  Best wishes.  Gary

What a great looking Super T, Aztec.  What are you carrying everyday now?  Tony, I might have to figure out some kind of lanyard for the black Tinker.  Dad complained about the ring and the ring nub, so..... I ground off the nub.  I will figure out something.  Best wishes.  Gary

Man, did I have a Tinker Tuesday!

Today at work, someone asked if I could take down a large television off a swivel wall mount and re-mount it on one of those rolling TV stands. We have an office tool kit - it's one of those terrible, cheap all-in-ones you buy on Amazon. It's missing a few pieces, and I've started taking a few small tools of my own on the days I go into the office.

The bad news was the screwdriver has disappeared out of the kit. The good news is that I had my Deluxe Tinker in my pocket!

The screws on the back of the TV mount had obviously been put in with a power drill - they were extremely tight! So, I got to employ the strategy of using the back Phillips to (carefully...) get the screws started and then switch to the can opener to take them all the way out.

No pliers were needed today, but I think the extra bulk of the DT helped with the back Phillips use on this occasion.

Had my Deluxe Tinker in my pocket all day but traveled all day and didn't take a picture. This Super Tinker is always within reach also, and I've been using it for tying and trimming slingshot bands lately.

The only Tinker I own got pulled out for inventory and a condition check.  Needs a cleaning, oil, and some blade honing.  It should be in better condition next week.

Looks like a good one to me, Jeff.  Just needs a little "tinkering".  Good to hear from Tony as well.  Everybody be sure to show up for Wenger Wednesday tomorrow.
Coyote was screaming its head off a while ago.  Don't usually do that in the day.  This thing sounds like a wolf.  Doesn't make coyote squealey sounds.  Howls like a horror movie beast.  I call it Werecoyote.  It usually whips up the band into a frenzy at night.
There is a rabies threat here.  The wildlife boys have had two projects lately where they have been dropping rabies vaccination baits from planes and throwing them out from trucks.  Foxes and raccoons are the big threats.  Coyotes, not so much as the numbers go.  Might as well put in another deer trail camera photo.  Nothing else to do, right?  Best wishes.  G

Hip hip hooray for Tinker Tuesday! I've got my Tinker+ along this week. As you can see from the bandaid, she is officially mine now. Cit the top of my finger, pulling the blade through my Vic sharpener like a dingdong. Once a knife cuts me, I give it a name, and as the superstition goes, it's officially mine. I've named her Ruby, and we are bonded for life now.

What knife did you carry before you got infected with the SAK virus, Aztec?  Thanks to all the Tinker contributors.  Remember Spartan Saturday will soon be here.  The Great Spartan will rise out of the pumpkin patch and..... ?  Maybe not.  Best wishes.  G

I carried a Tinker through high school (they used to allow them back then) then college.  After college, I happened upon a Kershaw Leek that became my daily for many years.  Then about 2yrs ago I rediscovered my original Tinker which I think I bought in 1992-93.  Since then I was reading up on them and watching videos about them, the possible modifications, etc.  Then last year I discovered this awesome forum.  Haven't looked back since.  :D

Happy Tinker Tuesday.  If you have been following along, you have seen one of my black Tinkers already.  I am carrying a no name multi to do a 7 day challenge.  Might stretch it out to 15 days.  I doubt it.  That is over on the Cheap but Cheerful board.  I am actually carrying this knife based multi every day.  No SAKs.  No Leatherman.  Feel free to look in and say hello.
I made too many posts yesterday and made myself annoying.  I am dialing it back today.
I took this Tinker vs No Name photo to post later this week.  See if you can tell which is the Tinker.  This one has the old can key slot on the phillips driver.  Useful back when corned beef came with a strip you had to crank off.  Little key soldered to the bottom of the tin.  Ever use one?  Best wishes.  G

You can never have too many posts...

Wow... what a stark difference.  Looks like you could chew up the no-name brand way more easily.

My old Tinker has the can key slot.  I remember mom letting me open the cans of corned beef or spam because I thought it was really cool to use the can key.  It's amazing how simple little things bring back good memories.

You can see the marks on the No Name Phillips driver.  I tried it this morning on a screw in a plastic portable radio casing.  It wouldn't move the screw but distorted itself and the screw head.  I stopped before I wrecked the screw.  Then I tried the Tinker Phillips.  The screw was either tight or had a sealant on it.  It broke loose with a click.  The Tinker dug into the damaged screw and turned it out with ease.  Tightened it right back like it was with no effort.  Autocorrupt wanted to change phillips to Phillips, so I let it.  Best wishes.  G
