Happy Tinker Tuesday.  Might as well show another knot.  Ideal for joining a line to a leader.  So they say.  There is no reason not to call it a Victorinox toothpick knot, if that's what you want to use.  Not too many people carry a nail around.  Even though generally speaking, you would tie this one before you go fishing.  Probably have a nail at home.  Best wishes.  Gary

No way to put a key ring on the Tinker, Tony.  I tried a little of everything.  Short of epoxy, or drilling a hole.  If it had been a Spartan, there would be no difficulty.  Just loop a lanyard around the corkscrew and close it.  Works perfectly.
I carried an Opinel all day.  Great carry knife.  Don't even know it is in your pocket.  Best wishes.  G

I've been hauling my Tinker Small around lately. Just put some micarta scales from Barnescraft EDC a few days ago. I love the feel now.

Here's my Tinker Small with can key patiently waiting for it's TLC.  I have too many competing projects.  Mostly the honey-do list vs what I want to do.  :wait:

I’ve made all this noise about not needing the pliers much, carried the Explorer for a week or so, and here I am carrying the Deluxe Tinker again.

What’s wrong with me?

My Tinker can be used for a lot of things.  This is not one of them, unless I find a way to through bolt.  There will be water on the other side, so not going there.

Here's my (pretty) old tinker with original camo scales. My dad bought me this one when I was still a kid, just not sure when it was exactly; it's such a great SAK.

Very cool, I didn't know that there was a Tinker with scissors. I have the Tinker Deluxe which has scissors and pliers, but I didn't know they made one in between those two.

You know, the Deluxe Tinker was the first Victorinox I'd bought in a while. But it's weird -- the tools don't really snap back into place like my other Vics, and the scales are not completely flush with the body. I don't know if that's just this specific one or what, but it just feels very different from my older ones.

How about a photo, Tuisto?  One picture is worth a thousand verbs, right?  Two pictures would be better, now that I Tink about it.
If it is a used knife, then it needs a good clean up and a little lube to restore the snap.  Scales can be pressed back on their pins if they are not fitting flush.
 Best wishes.  G

Fair enough, here are the photos. It's absolutely brand new, I bought it less than a month ago (from an extremely large online retailer that shares the name of an ancient Scythian all-female warrior tribe). Not quite sure if I can show with pictures the issue with the snapping, but certainly you can see the red part of the scale extending over top of the metal part, which occurs in absolutely none of my old(er) SAKs. And this is actually after I replaced this one already via that enormous online retailer -- this is the second one I received that still doesn't snap and still has issues with the scale (albeit, not as bad in the case of the latter). I'm sorry, I'm editing this to add that it's the cap lifter layer specifically that doesn't snap.
