Looks like you figured out how to post your photos, Stot.  Those are some fine photos and some yummy old Vics.  I like the 84mm line too.  I just put new toothpick and tweezers in an 84mm.
Still dribbling outside.  My carefully mowed lawn is now showing quite a few yellow flowers.  Some are buttercups and some are hawkweed.  A friend once told me she thought the yellow flowers were pretty.  I agreed but said I still didn't like them on the lawn.
The black W-W Tinker looks great, Dan.  The orange makes a nice contrast.  Best wishes.  G

I think I will post a Tinker Tuesday photo a day early.  Might not have time tomorrow.  I think Sunday was about the slowest day for posts on the forum that I can remember.  I can only hope that folks were enjoying the sun or spending some family time.  Best wishes.  G

Thanks, Dan.  I threw in the blue Bic just to get some color.  I must have found it lying somewhere.  I don't smoke and don't buy lighters. Best wishes.  G

My smoking days are over, but I still keep a Bic on hand. They're the best thing I've found for melting the ends of paracord. Something that doesn't require fuel is preferred for making fire out in the bush.

My very first Tinker.  I want to say I bought this in 1992 or 1993 at Service Merchandise, just because I was a McGyver fan.  And look at me now.  More SAKs than I have space for.

Does anyone else have a 91mm Tinker from the 61-71 production period? I thought I was getting an 84 until I opened it!

Nice one, Stot.  I like the blue, but don't know what the advert is for.  The big blade contour looks a little different in some way.  Might just be the light.  Good clean SAK.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

That big blade does look a little different. Regardless, that is one very sweet old Tinker! :tu:

The big blade has a normal original profile. Combination of some glare and reducing the photo size perhaps. The add inlay is for a company that specializes in camera bags, if my memory is working today.

I figured it was the lighting.  I actually would prefer for Victorinox to make the big blades with a clip point.  The small clip point was great and that square phillips....?  Yummy.  Seems like friend Aztec had a very similar one in red cellidor.  Best wishes.  Gary

Thanks  Gary. I use the file on Phillips more than I expected and the clip point blade is also my preference. Thankfully there are enough on the used market that I don’t have shop for a modern version.

Does it have a key can slot?  I have an early '80's Master Craftsman with a square Philips head and the slot in it.

If I were a betting man, my money would be on a square Phillips having the can key. Do we know if any square Phillips that don't have the can key?

The square Phillips with the file don’t have the can key slot afaik. There may have been a brief time for a square Phillips without can key and then the can key was added.

Aztec, your Tinker is a nice one!

Dad's old Tinker with a Leatherman.  Looks like the SAK needs another scale polish.  Dad used to pull an onion out of the garden and strip off the dirty part with the Tinker.  Munch on it for a snack right there.  Best wishes.  G

I gotta ask: does the Phillips have a can key? If so, it's a dead ringer for the first SAK that was bought with my own money. Needless to say... :like:

My first SAK was an 84mm Tinker from around 1976. I lost it long ago but found its twin. I remember it had a metal end on the tweezers, a clip pt small blade and no key ring.

I used a square phillips in a build that has the file, but no can key slot.  I pulled it from the SOS GAW box.  Also found the large and small blade and the spring for it, they are a little bit thicker than newer versions.  The small blade is a clip point too.  Based on the tang stamp of the blade sak wiki dates it 1957-1973
