1957 was a very good year!   My Dad and Mom sold their '49 Ford and moved us to California in our brand new '57 Chevy Station Wagon.  We traveled to CA via the famous Route 66. I was disappointed that CA didn't resemble my idea of the old west but was pretty happy the following year to see a new attraction called Disneyland (two years after it opened in 1956).
