News from Leatherman !

Today i received some info coming directly from Leathermans highest echelon.

One:the Core will be discontinued, probably next year.

Two: there will be an update of the Wave and Charge models.
One of the improvements: the weak pin inside the handles will change into a much sturdier piece of steel in the new versions.

This is all i have at this point,

Wow. That surprises me about the Core. IMO it's their most solid m/t. I guess sales just weren't there for it. I wish LM would start making more robust outside opening multis with the same drivers the Core has.

its sad if they drop Core out of production,as its the mostr sturdiest LM now made.i bet they just wanna make us buy more complicated MT´s with those soft-alloy detachable bits .


i hope it will be replaced by somethin as rugged,big and SIMPLE model.

Dang. Now I have to go by a lifetime supply of cores. Honestly, outside of the micra, I think that the core is the best tool leatherman curently makes. It will be a shame to see it go.

The Core is very attractive for its simplicity, but I'm not surprised if the Surge outsells it 5-to-1 in the Large Multi game.

The plastic is not as bad as you think.  Have you actually tried a Core or a Blast etc?

I have one too but the shovel and saw have seen heavy use. The handle looks like its new but its made out of Glock plastic....

I liked it.  Its on my list of, if I ever see one going cheap
