Everyday Helmet: Uvex Cap

It's kinda unhealthy to be admin on a tool-website with over half a million articles

. Anyway, saw this cap (for 15$) and had to order it.

UVEX u-cap sport

I was a bit surprised how comfortable to wear it is. Its also rather light. It is fairly stealthy from the front except being a bit taller than your usual baseball cap. The bright UVEX logo is also a bit of a give-away. From the back you can easily spot the plastic shell.

It does not replace a helmet, but it is certainly an option whenever you won't wear a helmet but probably should. Like cutting the branches of your tree. I also see this to be a choice cap for security guards that don't want to wear a helmet but still would like to be offered some protection against thrown beer bottles. It is also great for tall people who bang their head a lot

We call those bump caps over here. A lot of welders use them when they are using those welding masks that auto sense and go dark when they strike a weld, and aren't able to wear a helmet with them.

Awesome... are there other brands producing them or do you also have the ones from Uvex?

My father has one of theese, wich he uses when felling trees and the like.
They sort of look like a crossover between a ball cap and a riding helmet when worn.
