Pulled this one out of my collection of knives once owned by my great grandfather. He would buy a knife, use it at his job (he was a carpenter) until something broke, then stick it in a drawer. So I have a bunch of mostly very old knives with broken blades.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Just in....

Imperial 5 Tool BSA Scout
(Image removed from quote.)

Dont remember if I've ever seen one of those before Robert.     :    It sure is  8)     :like:

Thx David!! They are not as common as the 4 blade/tool versions and IIRC, I read a post over on BF about the 5 blade design and the Army in WW2 or Korea but I can't find it now. This Imperial knife (the IMPC5C, BSA #1046) was first manufactured in '63 according to ScoutKnives.Net
Hi Robert, Took this out of Cole's book iii
The photos are from Silvey's knives of WW2.

Anytime Robert, there's a few pages on pocket knives. Cole's is all line drawings as you'd know, but there's a few photos of pocket knives accompanying the fixed blades in the Silvey book.

No problem Buddy, I'll have to start browsing the markets, I love that old Colonial of mine. I went years with nothing more than it and my Wenger Esquire, until Victorinox entered my life. :D

Hey SAK Guy, that wenger ranger that you sometimes post pics of, would you rank it as better than a Vic 111, or about the same. I've been thinking of buying one someday, but don't know anybody that has one.

They are virtually the same! You get the more versatile Can Opener with the Vic and (IMO) better T&T.

No worries on either one!!!

Given that Vic bought Wenger and hired all the workers, chances are these are made on the same machines by the same people...

Here's some of mine.... (all suitable for camping BTW)

Lots of Wengers and several Vics.
