Fisher telescoping pen vs SKILCRAFT B3 Aviator
on: October 25, 2018, 01:20:08 AM
I'm wanting to get a pen for edc and I narrowed it down to 2 pens (to the best of my ability) the fisher telescopic space pen and the SKILCRAFT B3 Aviator.

It would be an urban environment with heavy pocket use, and it would be paired with field notes.

The other things I am carrying are olight i3t and a custom sak.

Which would you recommend and why?  Is there any other pen that you would recommend as a come from behind victor?

How important is compactness? Are you writing on any stuff that a normal pen might not write on?
Do you prefer thin or thick pens?
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Have a look at the Zebra:

I don't know if you can use space pen refills in them. Apart from that, they're pretty good and have great ergonomics.

I think answers to these are critical. If you need to write basically anywhere, the B3 won't work as well as a space pen, for instance.
If the trees blew down the wind and no one was around, would the alphabet song really go backwards?

I've gone through a lot of pens in my time and I have come to one conclusion- any pen that is not a Fisher Bullet is a complete waste of time and space.

But then, I use mine in extreme temperatures (+40C to -40C), in the snow, in the rain, the freezing rain.... you name it, I have written in it.  If you aren't expecting to use it in those kinds of situations then I suppose that opens the field up a bit.  :D
