Borrowed from WikipediA:

Quote
The proverb "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", addressing the health effects of the fruit, dates from 19th century Wales, according to Caroline Taggart, author of “An Apple a Day: Old-Fashioned Proverbs and Why They Still Work”. The original phrase, Taggart said, was: "Eat an apple on going to bed, and you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread". In the 19th century and early 20th, the phrase evolved to “an apple a day, no doctor to pay” and “an apple a days sends the doctor away”, while the phrasing now commonly used was first recorded in 1922.

 Must be a good year for apples.

The pruner blade must come in useful with fruit picking?
What I need is a Farmer  (avec scissors = Farmer X?) plus that pruner blade. Would be a great gardening tool.......have to have red handles though for when you drop it. :D

I like the pruner blade, but I find it a bit small for pruning.  :D I'm using other tools for that, e.g. the single blade Victorinox 100mm pruner, or an Opinel. For picking apples I don't need any tools but my hands.

Pictures are worth more than a thousand words.

First pic shows the 100mm pruning and budding knives. Also available in red. The black ones have brass liners and are heavier and more expensive than the red economy versions with aluminium liners. Second pic shows the 130mm Gardener. A very cool gardening tool and I love it!

A few more apples picked from the wild. I did a 5 hour hike today but didn't bring any food or drink. Wild apples, blackberries and elderberries provided the sustenance I needed.

I expected these wild apples to be hard as rocks and sour as lemons. Actually though they are nice.

Warm water and a few drops of oil will solve the problem, if this happens. :salute:

I´ll use some weapons oil or WD40 to loosen the dirt, and wash with warm water and soap afterwards, then rinse. After all, I don´t want any oil in my food.

Anyway you have some oil in a pivot. Otherwise you cant open your knife.
Try to use a Ballistol, which made from natural ingredients.
