Just jumping in on this thread and it is a very nice Case knife you have there Dave The newer Cases are nowhere near the quality of metal or manufacturing as that knife was There now just thrown together and shipped out as fast as they can

He said that they are mainly for collecting now and not as much for using.. He told a man (that was very good at sharpening knives ) that the new Cases would take an edge and retain it. He gave him 1 to try . So he sharpened it in the morning and by that evening (without any use that day by the way) was dull as a stick. That's not coming from me that's coming from a man who deals in Case Knives. (but that may have just been a fluke who knows)But don't get me wrong I still like Case knives there just not as good as they use to be
