My old knifeless 400 mod.  No saw holder sadly but I crammed in everything else.  :D

Awesome mod! I would replace the lanyard ring with the saw holder, and it would be perfect for me!  :tu: :like:

I'd not have bothered with the lanyard ring if it wasn't the same thickness as a washer TBH.  I don't use it but it doesn't take any real space either.

Oh I see, this is the thin lanyard ring, right? So the saw holder would not fit in its place. Guess I need to rearrange things again

What MP400 you guys  have? For the life of me, I'm unable to find one with lanyard ring from factory ...

This was a tool selection I put together myself.  It was a few years ago now so I might have stolen the lanyard ring from somewhere else.

Could be from a LM Blast but I would be lying if I said for sure.

Over the last couple weeks i received the donors for the bladeless MP400 project, and today I finally got around to do it. Here is the result:

The saw holder would fit with blade attached, but only in two spots. The MP400 has only two slots for the longer tools. Even though there are technically four, only two of them are wide enough to accommodate the long tools. Even the blade is too thick to fit on the other side, the pliers won’t slide in nicely anymore.

So with that in mind, i could only fit two of three tools i wanted in: File, Scissors and Saw Holder. Because of that i decided not to place the saw holder in one of those two slots, but on the opposite side. It is no longer possible to have the saw blade inside the tool when closed, but since there is plenty of space in the sheath it is not a big deal for me.

I also removed the bottle opener, because i don’t need it.

Nice!  Glad to be proven wrong about the saw holder even if you went with an alternative set-up in the end.  :tu:

I found an MP400 T3 at the local pawn shop. Lucky find but it needs cleaning.

After a 10 minute dunk in soapy water in the ultrasonic cleaner, and REM Oil, it turned out really good. The tool was speckled with white paint, and that came off easily. An MP400 T3 is a good find.

Nice find! What is the difference between a T3 and the regular 400‘s?

Nice find Chako, looks quite new! :tu: :like:

Sir, to the best of my knowledge, the only difference is that it has the "T3" logo laser etched on its side BUT, been available mostly black oxide (but not limited, as there is also a "T3" 700) as promo to the Terminator movie, it is quite unusual, and even more so as Chako's  is silver. Lets hope someone more knowledgeable chimes in soon!

The silver is caused by the lighting when I took the photo...it is black oxide. This is my second MP400 T3, and I also have the T3 700.

Here is a better photo (Today's addition on top)...and one including the aforementioned T3 Urban Legend MP700 next to a regular MP700. Just on the right is a Legend MP800 for size comparison..

Gerber made a T3 MP600 as well (it was BO, same as the T3 MP400)
