Tahara = posh SAK Actually I have no real idea. I know I should as I remember reading something about it, but my brain is functioning in economy mode today.I'm going to try the search funtion on the SOSAK forum now, I may be some time.Neil
Never seen one before, nice knife Ben. If it's any consolation you're not the only lean (skinny) chap here. Like you I can eat crud all day and it makes no difference. Sometimes my wife hates me.

I wonder if Neil is still trying to use the search engine over on KF.
Pardon the silly On-Topic question ... are those scales antler or bone? I have a similar cheapo knife with a laser-etched woodland venison scene on the "440 China" blade. It has similar looking inlays supposedly of antler.Back to the testicle smiting ... I'll throw in a " " just so youze guys don't think I'm a total dweeb...best--steve

Quote from: SporK on October 16, 2008, 12:59:15 AMWhat about sporty SAK, scary SAK and baby SAK?....I'm probably wrong, but isn't Wenger a knife company first? In other words, all SAKs are either Wenger or Vic, but Wenger can still make a knife or two outside of the Army contract. So not all Wenger knives have to be SAKs.Plus, all SAKs have the Swiss Cross the Confederacy of Helveticans are so proud of, no? I thought it was a must. Even if it's not on the scales, it's on one of the blade(s) somewhere, right?I'm thinking those scales are antler. The Western part of the country is full of Jaegermeisters, and horns and European Mounts are popular home decor... at least amongst the old-world Suissedeutch Rhine Valley folks that share a border with Austria. But I guess antler is kind of bone anyway.-steve
It looks like camel bone to me
