Comparing Blade Wear

Two 91mm Tinkers.  Bought the same day.  The one on the left was never carried.  The other was carried for several years by my Dad.  Maybe 6 or 8 years.  Just casual everyday use.  Around the house.  In the garden.  I might have sharpened or touched up the edge a dozen times.  I carried it some later, but never really used it much.
They have the can key phillips driver and were made about '91.  Best wishes.  G

My Dad liked to pull a young onion out of the garden.  Then he would cut the root end off with his Tinker and peel the dirty layer off.  Crunch, crunch.  I don't think he ever used any tool other than the big blade.  The blade looks a little thinner in profile from the sharpening.  Might have always been that way.  Who knows?  Best wishes.  G

Cool comparison! The carrier shows wear, but is not worn out or worse for wear. And a black Tinker with can key is the first SAK purchased with my own money. It left my possession long ago, but is easily identifiable.

The one that had never been carried picked up several marks on the scales just from storage.  Cellidor scuffs up so easily.  These were the first 91mm Tinkers that I had ever seen, and the first black ones.  SAKs meant either red 'plastic' or silver alox if you had a Sturdy Boy.  There were others, of course.  Just nothing that I knew about.  I never saw an alox SAK in a store and haven't to this day.  Best wishes.  G

I think I've seen Alox in a store all of once.
