Since I'm as usually lazy to take pics, here is the short version of why I prefer alox over cellidor - my hands get very sweaty and cellidor models tend to become slippery. The evo grips which are contoured and the dual density grips do remedy that issue as well
Not celidor, nylon(Image removed from quote.)
Alox pros - thicker tools (not sure how much difference that makes) robust scales - love them, but getting anything other than standard silver is way costly Alox cons - no back tools so no mini sd, pin or pen either - lots of utility lost. maximum of three layers Cellidor pros - back tools plus extra tools (see above) scales easily replaced/upgraded, and come in lots of lovely colours much more variety of modelCellidor cons - scales not as robust as alox That's all I can think of on this sleepy Sunday afternoon.
First, my most used SAK is Climber with Nylon scales as I really do not like Cellidor. My favorite SAK is the Pioneer as I really like the heft and feel of Alox. The 91mm knives get the nod most of the time because of the small blade, which I use more than any other tool. The awl on the Pioneer will do almost everything the small blade will do but not quite. I spent a lot of money on nylon scales fro Swiss Bianco when he had them and I will buy more is he ever has them in stock again. Although I may try the G-10 soon.
As far as main EDC Sak's go i'll always prefer classic red cellidor models 84/91mm. It's durable enough and has everything i need for real everyday use 95% os the time.It has more tool choices than alox. And i like the look, feel and overall "friendliness" better Oh... and the obvious Macgyver connection... I like alox for it's toughness in construction and beefier tools, so i'll use a Pioneer for anything that requires a tougher tool set and in environment's that might damaged cellidor scales, but I've never actually EDC'd my Pioneer, or even used it all that much. On a downside however the tools in alox are a bit harder to open as the springs are stiffer. However as much as i like alox models they just doesn't actually feel like a "swiss army knife" to me or have that vibe, just an amazing quality sturdy pocket knife that happens to be made in Switzerland, by Victorinox. I know it's stupid because the Pioneer's and similar are the direct descendants of the original soldier's knife, but over here we never actually call Sak's by anything related to "army", it was always called the "swiss pocket knife", so there was never that "military" vibe to it in term, and i never actually payed much attention to alox models till very recently. So all in all, i always prefer the Cellidor for full size Sak EDC and alox for keychain size use.

I'm carrying alox for looks, not for added durability.
