Thought I had better start a thread about Radios as I've gone to so much trouble getting one .
   I've always wanted my own VHF Marine radio ever since I done the course and got a certificate .I enjoy using the radio and often prefer to that position on the boat rather then Helm , or talking to the boat  from the control room .The funny thing is , is its illegal to use a VHF Marine radio on land  but because we are a declared SAR facility we have a base station and use handhelds on the beach alot for launching and recovery , safety , training and beach searches .
  We have 4 crew members who are booked into a radio course next month so the coming 3 weeks will see alot of radio work to give these guys an insight .
  Sure the boat has its own radios but its nice to have your own  :)
  It should be with me within the next week

Its nice to play with other peoples stuff but its not like having your own :)

So how many knives/tools did you have to sacrifice ???

Kick , Rescom , Mini maglite . Luckily I won £40 at work so I dont have to sell the Atlantic Salt , Aircrew knife and Vic Forester  :D

You must have hankered for that radio real bad if you were willing to give up the Salt and the Joe Rodgers for it! :o

Yep , but now I don't have too

It has left me so skint that I can't even go for a beer today
