I like it as well.Hits all the points without dragging on
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Good job, interesting to see how long it takes for that crack to get bigger, unless of course you plan to return it

Crack noted, doesn't look great, but I like the grain orientation on the GB is much better than the Wetterlings. I wouldn't be worried about the gap in the handle where the wedge is, but I would be unhappy with a crack for sure

I posted the "crack" issue on a gransfors bruks page on face book. Several people posted pics with the same thing. Turns out its not a crack. Its just the eye being folded closed. Apparently they dont feel the need to seal it like wetterlings does.

Interesting that they'd forge the eye larger than it needs to be...

They are both great Swedish made axes.  Im just glad there are at least a few companies that survived the china take over of the low end axes.  GB used to make low cost stuff, but they changed to target higher end market and I was happy to support them.   Ive only got a GB small forest axe but it out chops anything else Ive ever had.  I only prefer my Estwings for abuse ability but they are of course heavier.

So from my point of view GB or Wetterlings and you will be happy.  One is a 9.7 the other a 9.8  :D  At the time I bought mine there was more variance in the wettlerings heads and handles so it was recommended to only buy those in person so you could examine them.  It doesnt seem that way now though so I think you're good to go with either.
