Photobucket ... bad
on: July 07, 2017, 11:15:56 PM
Seems Photobucket is mad that people don't want to upgrade their accounts, but now Photonucket went and pulled photos stored there from being posted on other websites unless they upgrade. So if you had upgraded to a standard account that varies from $5+ a month and still had photos appearing on other sites you'd have to upgrade to their P500 account for the low price of, wait for it, $399.00 + tax/year!

Time to dump photobucket.

Did a search for Photobucket before posting, nothing showed up. Had thought that was a bit odd, cause I thought many people used it.

Is there an alternative out there? Google Photo really isn't the same thing...

Was about to till I found it's run by Yahoo. Yahoo keeps getting hacked left and right, so will find something else. Too much hacking nonsense as it is.

Yahoo was recently bought by Verizon in turn.

Is there an alternative out there?

I transferred 800 photos from Photobucket to Imgur.  I downloaded each photo one click at a time, then uploaded them en masse to Imgur.  It was pretty easy, and Imgur is way more user friendly than Photobucket ever was.
